WineConf Call for Hosts
World Of Warcraft On Mac
Apr 03, 2011 I downloaded and installed warcraft 2 (v1.0 RETAIL, no expansion). Copy the.dll files for IPXwrapper to the warcraft 2 folder, and still, when I attept to open an IPX game it simply says “unable to locate IPX network” I am not sure if anyone else knows if I need to figure out how to patch it or download a certain copy or what. Dec 07, 2011 1) Locate the.exe file in the install folder or on the disc 2) Right click the.exe file and go to properties 3) Click the compatibility tab 4) check off: Run this program in compatibility mode for 5) Under the drop-down menu select Windows XP Service Pack 2. Installing World of Warcraft (WoW) in Ubuntu or Linux Mint (with Wine) is pretty easy, however there are various crashes that can occur, especially if you're not using the latest Wine and also, the FPS can be pretty low without a few tweaks, so I though I'd document everything I did to get World of Warcraft to work properly on my laptop (Nvidia Optimus, so I was able to test the game with both.
This is a call for proposals to host the next WineConf sometime this year. Ideally proposals would present;
- Proposed dates
- Proposed city
- Information on potential venues and travel
We'll need to choose a host relatively quickly as it does take time to plan and book the event. I'm hoping we can settle on a host by the end of February but ultimately that decision goes to the Wine Committee. Questions, comments, concerns can be posted on the WineConf mailing list. A draft of a guide to hosting has been started on the wiki [1]. Please take a look to get a sense of what is involved in hosting the conference.
